The mosque and the school of Sultan Hassan are among the most beautiful buildings that represent the Islamic art of the early Mamluk Age in Cairo .
Built on 1359 , It was built during the reign of Sultan Al-Nasir Hasan Ibn Muhammad Ibn Qalawun.
It is considered an architectural masterpiece and one of the greatest mosques in Egypt and all over the world, and combines its buildings between the strength of the building and its splendor and the accuracy of the decoration is wonderful.
The building began in March 1357 in a place known as the horse market on the land of Prince Yelbega. The construction continued for three years without stopping. Sultan ِِAl-Nasir Hassan died before the construction was completed, and Prince Bashir al-Agha was completed on 1363.
